Domestic Study vs. Foreign Study in Spain

Domestic and Foreign Study

A study program in Spain enriches and diversifies undergraduate education while providing an alternative to learning procedures offered by any home campus. It likewise affords a more comprehensive outlook as the interrelatedness of nations and cultures and the universality of human values is put into focus. This is something that cannot be offered by any home campus regardless of the educational standard of the college or university and the level of motivation of the student. A students perspective is limited only in being exposed to his/her home culture alone.

The difference lies in the structure and the many variations in duration, location and program type. Because of this basic difference, there is necessarily a resulting difference in how credit is earned and used towards degree studies, what the full costs would be, what financial aid resources are available, how safety can be maximized and how the admission process works. The difference can sometimes entail additional time in terms of paperwork and follow-ups, the experience of studying in a country like Spain more than makes up for the effort.

The health and safety risks associated with studying abroad specifically in Spain are no different from any home campus. Since Spain is generally a peaceful and progressive country, most problems such as illnesses, injuries and fatalities are more often than not attributed to student misbehavior. Incidents such as these happen when students have inadequate preparation, out rightly ignore the advice and counsel of authorised personnel or act naively or recklessly to their own detriment.

Spain, like any other country has its share of crime, accidents and evolving health and safety conditions in the environment. This would include criminal behaviour targeting foreign students such as theft and sexual assault, various accidents involving all modes of travel as well as diseases, natural catastrophe and political upheaval. That is why it is necessary to learn from information provided beforehand so that students can better equip themselves to meet inevitable challenges.

The present competition in the work area has necessitated a well-rounded education that is less monocultural. A deeper, broader and higher learning requires direct experiences and this cannot be achieved without going beyond the territorial boundaries of our home country. This spells the big difference between staying put in UK all throughout your college life and taking the time to go to a country like Spain.
